NEW REGIME vs TBD
TBD lead early on as they were able to get great looks at the basket and solid stops on the defensive end. New regime eventually picked up the pace and climbed back into it, Just before the end of the half, TBD would go on a 12-0 run to take the lead going in to halftime.
Fast forward to midway point of 2nd half, New regime would get out on the run to close the gap and eventually found themselves in the lead. TBD would not quit as they would battle back and forth trading baskets right to the end.
With under 1 minute left in the game, New Regime up 3 but failed to capitalize on late game free throws. TBD would recover the ball but fell short on the buzzer beating shot to force OT. New Regime advance to the Thursday Finals to take on the winner of Game #2. Final score 87-84.
Leading the way for New Regime was Marko Curic as he finished with a game high 28 points to go with 13 rebounds. Paul Walwyn contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists while Rahim Issac dropped 12 points and 6 rebounds. Tut Rauch also had a solid game with 13 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
For TBD, Andrew Dawkins had a team high 24 points, going 10-16 from the field, to go with 6 assists. Alex Desroches was everywhere on the court as he wrapped up his night with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Jebron Smith contributed 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal before fouling out of the game.
TOBEN vs TEAM CZ
Toben would jump out the gates firing as they would start the game on a 9-0 run. Team CZ would fight back and take a 14-13 lead forcing Toben Coach Tony Zou to burn an early time out. Toben would settle down and control the rest of the half as they found took a 41-35 lead into the second half.
Team CZ would buckle down on the defensive end to close the gap and would eventually tie the game up. Toben followed up with a run of their own as they were able to convert on second chance opportunities down the stretch.
In the end, Toben would stand their ground and make clutch shots in the last two minuets to hold on to an 88-80 victory. Toben will battle New Regime next week @ Hoopdome in the finals.
Ahmed Haroon lead the way on the offensive end for Toben as he poured in 21 points, hitting 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. while pulling in 5 boards. James Siakam stepped up big for his team chipping in with 19 points, 18 rebounds as he made his impact in the painted are.a Dinjyl Walker also finished with 19 points with 5 assists but fouled out late in the game.
Team CZ fell a bit short in a very intense game. Dre Glisic lead the effort as he finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks; Devin Johnson had a team high 23 points paired with 5 rebounds and 5 assist. Ben Garvin also hit for 22 points to go with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in a tough semi final loss.
