Savages vs. Fraternity

Neither team had great game as both teams shot less than 40%. The Savages were the favourites going in but this game was competitive until the end. With some of their key stars struggling from the field, Brandon Chase & Kadeem Williams stepped up with a combined 32 points on 15/25 shooting. The rest of the team only shot 26.1%. I think it’s safe to say that if not for these X-Factor type performances, the Savages would have been sent home. The Fraternity simply struggled from the floor at 31.8% with only 1 player in double figures. The up and down season for the Fraternity ends and the Savages will move on.

Classick vs. Titans

This was the game people were talking about on Tuesday morning. It was an epic battle between 2 very even squads and this game went down to the wire. It was a balanced effort from Classick who didn’t see one player score 15 or more, but still found a way to win. Chris Bongolan led with 14 including a dagger three pointer to help put the Titans away. Riam Sigua scored a team best 17 on 7/10 but it wasn’t enough in the end.  This concludes a memorable Titans season. They grew into a fun basketball team to watch, but it is over and many of them will get a fresh start next season.

Investment Academy vs. Swish Squad

Wow,this was the Hakim party last night with the rookie going for 34 points including 6/9 from deep. Add 24 from Ryan Michalski and 11-10 from Kyle Edwards helped lead The Investment Academy to a blowout win. Swish Squad simply didn’t have an answer for the hot offensive attack of The Investment Academy who shot just shy of 50%. Offense was an issue for Swish Squad shooting less than 35%. This spoils a tremendous effort from Cham Sangar who scored a team best 21 and Craig Hanson with another monster double-double. It’s restart time for the boys on Swish Squad and rookie GM, Mike Myers will take his team to the next level.

Grind Time vs. Hardwood Nemesis

Grind Time was the heavy favourite going into the game and surprise no one by eliminating Hardwood Nemesis. Big games across the board highlighted by 27 points from Aaron Martin and 11-15 from Delly Thomas. Grind Time shot just short of 50% and dominated the glass outrebounding HWN by 13. Hardwood Nemesis actually played well offensively but did not have an answer for the Grind Time attack. Mike Cruz with 21 and Paul Moncrieffe with 17 in the loss.
