Comp Tues Week 6 Recap/ Week 7 Preview

The playoff race is starring to take form as we finished off week 6 of the Comp Tuesday season. This season has been something else, with some great play from week to week and quite the competitive atmosphere. Teams are looking to secure themselves a bid in the post season, so expect these next couple weeks to get intense. Here is a recap of this weeks action.

7pm – Hong Shing (3-2) 50 Vs. Regeneration X (0-5) 42

Hong Shing got back into the win column this week by holding off the hungry Regeneration squad to stop their 2 game slide. Despite the strong play for Regeneration, they just did not have an answer for Ashton Graham who led the team with 28 Pts on the night. Not having a sub on the night hurt Regeneration as you could see the fatigue kick in late in the 2nd half which killed their chances of coming back.

8pm – Toon Squad (4-1) 82 Vs. Uptown (1-4) 72

Toon Squad continue to roll through the regular season as they pick up another double digit win in this one. Uptown gave a great effort tonight on the glass (+9 advantage) but just could not keep up with the Toon's high powered offence. 4 guys put up double figures for Toon via some impressive ball movement (15 team assists) and knockdown shooting. Uptown were not able to capitalize on some mistakes by Toon early in the 2ns half to get themselves back in the game and it cost them in the end.

9pm – Sharks (4-2) 63 Vs. New Era (3-2) 39

In a highly anticipated matchup between 2 contending teams in the division, the Sharks mauled New Era to secure the 20+ point victory. The Size up front for Sharks can be a daunting task to handle, but it was their 9/22 night from 3 that made the difference for them tonight. By knocking down their trey balls, it allowed them to get some solid spacing and keep their flow all game. It also helps when u hold your opponents to 13/48 shooting from the field as well. New Era played their worst game of the season, and will surely be ready for a potential rematch come playoff time.
