What Went Down

The wheels on the Wednesday Competitive League buss kept on moving as teams were looking to get their first wins to stay in the .500 range, while others were trying to go 2-0 and continue the trip to the top. Mouhammed Hneino and his Blue LA Goons denied the HItmen the chance to even their season up, and he led the way with 18 points on 7-13 shooting, but also did his grit and grind work down low, by getting 9 massive rebounds in the win. The Monarchs got over their tough first week loss with a dominant performance vs The Super Friends in all aspects. Jordan Henry led the way offensively with 13 points, in what turned out to be a 50 point blowout. Kwasi Adu-Basowha also contributed in more than one ways in the win, getting a double double of 11 points and 12 boards. To cap off the night the Grind time did what’s in their name and Grinded out a big win against Rise N Grind, to move to 2-0 on the early season. D'Andre Hospedales continued his great start to the season, putting in 16 points on 7-10 shooting, and turned it on on defense by grabbing a couple steals.

By The Numbers

50- The Monarchs were no joke on Wednesday night as they put the hammer down on the Super Friends, leading to the biggest margin of victory yet in this season.

17- The Goons went 17-22 from the line against the Hitmen, who went only 4-9 from the line. This big advantage from the stripe provided the Goons important free points, and showed how aggressive they were drawing contact

8- the amount of steals the Grind Time had to secure their big win and remain undefeated. It may not have been a huge advantage for the Grind Time, but timely plays like that on defense can swing the game in a big way.
