Week 5 League Recap  

 

 

Game #1 GBD vs Toben 

 

Toben continued their dominance over GBD with a 105-84 victory. Toben held a 12 point lead at half time 47-35 and never was in trouble in the game. Jalyn Pennie and Devonte Campbell led the way with 23 and 21 points.  

 

GBD played decently, with Shamar Combs being the bright spot scoring 24 points and handing out 6 assists in his first game with GBD. Abdullah Hashi was finally slowed down and held under 25 for the first time contributing 18 points and 10 rebounds.   

 

 

Game #2 Shooting Stars vs SWAT 

  

In the second game of the night Shooting Stars took on SWAT and almost pulled off the upset losing 92-90. Swat held a 2 point lead at half time and escaped with the victory. Abeku Bransah continued to display his skills pouring in 25 points and Aj Serjue had a big game for SWAT scoring 22 points and handing out 5 assists.  

 

For Shooting Stars, Jayden Coke was a thorn in SWAT's side scoring 30 points, pulling down 18 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 steals. Patrick Robinson Jr was held to under 36 points for the first time this season, he scored 26 points in the loss. 

 

  

Game #3 TBD Vs Desta 

 

In the final game of the night we had TBD vs Desta. As predicted, this game was a track meet. TBD was short handed missing many of their studs but still managed to beat DestaTBD held a 13 point lead at half time 62-49 and kept that margin too win 120-107. Jordan Clennon hit 13 threes in his debut and scored 41 points and handing out 6 assists. Girbran Smith scored 24 points but suffered an injury in the process and maybe out for a while. 

 

Prince Kamunga had a game high 43 points for Desta in the loss, connecting on 8 threes and having 5 steals. Chevon Brown had a huge game as well scoring 31 points and handing out 7 assists. Two of three of the highest scoring games this season have come from Desta players. Chevy with 48 & Kamunga with 43.
