Kawhi Not vs. SWISH – GAME OF THE WEEK

Well it simply doesn’t get better than this. This is a look at what most people believe the Finals will look like and a clash between two teams that have combined for a 13-1 record. Kawhi Not rolls into Week 8 undefeated while SWISH enters Week 8 winner of 6 straight. SWISH’s only loss was to Box Out in Week 1, but have been on fire since that point.

Match-Up to Watch

Jevon Jacobs vs. Shaq Dover

Jacobs is currently 2nd in the league in scoring at 22.7 PPG with Dover just behind at 21.2. They play different positions so it isn’t clear if they’ll guard each other, but Dover is a great defender so you may see him on Jacobs regardless if out of position.

Since this is the only meeting between the two teams this season, this will determine who finishes 1st overall.  Who wants 1st place?

Investment Academy vs. Grind Time

After starting out 0-3, Grind Time has bounced back winning 3 of their last 4 to position themselves in a good spot for the upcoming playoffs. The chemistry took some time, but now that they have it, they’re blowing teams out. They’ve won their last 2 by an average of 24 points. For IA, they’ve had the biggest rollercoaster season in the league. They win their opener, lose two straight, then win two straight then lose two straight. The pattern would suggest that they win this Monday, but they’ve got their work cut out for them. Grind Time has found their offensive rhythm and can hit you in so many different ways. As an example, 5 players scored 10 or more. Grind Time is also a very good rebounding team. With that said, IA has to play great team and individual defense while also getting their offense going. In their last meeting and only meeting of the season, IA defeated Grind Time by 2 and held them to 41 points. Keep them at 40, not 70.

Bugatti Boys vs. Unruly

After improving to 2-1 in Week 3, BBB have dropped 4 in a row and will likely finish 6th overall. Disappointing given that they played extremely well during that mini 2 game stretch and haven’t been able to get it done since then. Unruly on the other hand has been hot, winning 4 of their last 5 games and 3 in a row. You can make the argument that Unruly is the best offensive team, 2nd in the league in points, field goal percentage, three point percentage and 1st in the league in assists.

Unruly is obviously favoured to win this game especially with the way they’ve been playing. BBB have to shoot the ball more efficiently and do their best to contain Unruly’s balanced offensive attack.

Rapchaz vs. Box Out

While at 7pm we have the battle for 1st place, at 10pm we have the battle for not finishing in last place. Box Out and Rapchaz sit tied for 7th and this meeting will determine who finishes in 7th. It is not possible for either team to finish 6th with Bugatti being both teams this season.

In this match-up I really think it’s going to come down to which team can get off to a good start and find an offensive rhythm. Both teams shoot the most 3’s in the league, but both teams sit 7th and 8th in made three pointers.

A big tune-up game to prepare for the playoffs. A win would be huge for the winning team’s confidence.
