SWAT to take on GBD

Too long time foes will battle it out this Thursday. Anthony Guada (GBD) and a number of players on SWAT have been playing each other since 2011-2012 and it’s always a good game. For GBD this is a key game. They’re down 1-2 after a devastating loss last week so they’re going to be extra motivated to get this W against SWAT. It isn’t going to be easy as SWAT is winners of two straight and playing really good basketball. For whatever reason, SWAT seems to be a better team in the 2nd half while GBD seems to be a better team in the 1st half of games. Regardless of the stats, when you put these two teams together, it should be a good one that goes down to the wire.

The Reach vs. Desta Training

Get your popcorn out – this should be an excellent game. Desta leads in the league in offense while The Reach sits in 3rd just behind Hong Shing. If we’re talking percentages, The Reach is just 1% behind Desta in field goal shooting. Either way, that could all change this Thursday. Desta’s advantage is their a bit quicker and they shoot the 3 ball better. The Reach’s advantage is they have a bit more depth and size on the inside. I think it’s a toss-up and it should be an excellent game between two teams that have a ton of talent.

Hong Shing vs. TBD

It’s going to feel like a must-win for TBD who will take on the only undefeated team in the league, Hong Shing. TBD has struggled to score the ball so if they have any hope this Thursday, they’ve got to pick it up a bit offensively but also challenge and contest every Hong Shing shot. Hong Shing leads the league in three pointers made at 14.3 per game and they shoot it 2nd best in the league at 38.7%. For Hong Shing, they’ve got to be feeling great going into this game. Their Tuesday team won the championship last week and so far in their move to Advance, they’ve won 3 straight. Last week they may have felt almost too confident, getting down -18 at the half, but were able to turn it up in the 2nd half to win by 8. Big game especially for TBD.

SCF vs. Juicy J

Who wants it? I think this game can go either way. SCF fresh off a buzzer beating victory while Juicy J took a tough loss to Desta. They walk into this game with identical records of 1-2. Juicy J picked up their first victory on opening night against SWAT but have struggled since that game while for SCF it’s the opposite. SCF lost their first two and finally picked up a W last week. If there’s two things to watch out for, Juicy J is an excellent rebounding team, leading the league on the glass while SCF leads in the league in steals. Should be a great game.
