TBD vs. SWAT

Two hardnosed teams will go at it this Thursday. SWAT fresh off a big win over Desta Training hope to win their 2nd game of the season against TBD who will be looking for their 1st W of the season. TBD has played well in these first two games, but have struggled to keep up offensively especially in the 2nd half. They have been shorthanded these first 2 games so hopefully they’ll be at full strength for this game.

For SWAT, they really came together last week when they could have just accepted a loss after being down big late. They’ve got to bring their A-Game against a team like TBD that will be very motivated to get their first W this season.

Juicy J vs. Desta Training

Juicy J will be put to the test this Thursday as they take on the high scoring Desta Training. Both teams enter the game with 1-1 records with both teams losing their games last week. The story of last week was Desta Training’s Chevon Brown scoring 60 points in a loss to SWAT. All eyes will be on Brown to see if he can repeat that effort. Desta is going thru some injuries so hopefully some of their players are able to join the team this Thursday.

For Juicy J, they’re coming off a loss to Hong Shing and were also not at full strength. They also ran into a team that was crazy hot from three point range. It doesn’t get easier as they’ll take on a young team that loves to run, gun and shoot 3’s. Transition defense is an area they need to focus on as Desta is going to push that ball up the floor on every possession.

GBD vs. SCF

GBD had a huge win last week and hope to build on it against SCF. SCF has played good basketball, but has run into two of the highest scoring teams in the league and took losses in both. For SCF, this is a big game. They certainly don’t want to go down 0-3 to start the season. If they want to come out with a win, they’ll need to play better defensively especially in transition.

For GBD, they generate a lot of their offense on isolation plays. It’s definitely dangerous to play this way but it worked for them last week. What’s unique about GBD is they’ve got about 5-6 guys that can lead the team in scoring so as long as they can share the ball they should be in a good position to win this ball game.

Hong Shing vs. The Reach

Well…isn’t this just perfect? The only two teams left without a blemish on their record go head to head this Thursday in a heavily anticipated match-up. Hong Shing is fresh off a championship win (4PEAT) in the Tuesday division and while not all the players on that team are not on this team, many of them are and I’m sure they’re going to feel extra confident going into this game.

The Reach has made a lot of noise this season with a sizzling and league leading 58.1% field goal percentage. If not for Chevon Brown’s 60, all the buzz would be about Kevin Otoo who quietly and efficiently dropped 49!

It’s going to be a great game. Get out the popcorn.
