No Jacobs, no problem.

SWISH jumped out to a quick start and never looked back in a blow out win over the Rapchaz. SWISH got major contributions across the board and did it without their top player and the league’s scoring leader Jevon Jacobs. A collective effort got the job done with Jason Miller finishing with a 13-13 double, Riam Sigua leading the team with 16, Joshua Nojadera with 15 and 5 dimes and Bobby Colorado with 13. Swish shot 44% from the floor compared to 37% for the Rapchaz. The three ball simply wasn’t falling for the Rapchaz, shooting only 20% from 3 point range and no player hit more than 1. Hakim Dahnoun led with 18 and Malik McPherson had 10-8 in his debut with the team, but obviously not enough to get the win. SWISH win their 3rd straight while Rapchaz lose their 2nd in a row.

Grind Time grind out 1st win

After struggling on offense all season they finally came out and got buckets. Grind Time shot a season best 53.4% from the floor scoring a season best 62 points. Kwasi Adu-Basowah played great with 16 points and 8 rebounds with newly acquired Brandon “Birdman” Chase adding 13 points on an efficient 5/7. For Bugatti, the ball wasn’t falling for them shooting 32.6% from the floor and 20% from three point range. They got 21-8 from Emeron Rodgers but simply not enough to beat a hungry team like Grind Time last night. Grind Time earns their first victory while Bugatti falls to .500 at 2-2.

Investment Academy edge Box Out

After a frustrating loss the week before, Investment Academy bounced back with a huge win. Investment Academy shot 53% from the floor and had two player scoring 20 or more. Daniele Guarnaschelli exploded for 21 points on 7/11 (all three pointers) and Will Edwards with 20-8-5. They were cash from deep shooting 10/22 for 45% and 4 players had 3 assists or more. Box Out didn’t play poorly, but didn’t have an answer for IA.  D'Andre Hospedales with 16-13-4 and Mike Cruz with 14 and Martin Cruz with 12 in their team debuts. Box Out without Nicholas Cruz which would have been great to see as he would have taken on his former team. IA improves to 2-2 while Box Out falls to 1-3.

Kawhi not stay undefeated

Crazy game with Kawhi Not hanging on to win in the end. It wasn’t pretty at all, but Kawhi Not’s effort on the glass and defensively was the difference. Their defense down the stretch led to open lay-ups to help lift Kawhi Not to their 4th straight W. Paul Bartley and Shaq Dover led with 21 points each. Unruly was right in this game, but fell apart in the end. Jonathan Harvey led with 15 points, Delly Thomas added 14 and they nearly shot 50% from the field but fall short. They missed 12 free throws and got outrebounded by 10. Definitely things they can improve upon next week. Unruly falls to 2-2 with the loss.
