RAPCHAZ vs. S.W.I.S.H.

The two “young” squads get together in what should be an entertaining match-up. The league’s scoring leader Jevon Jacobs hopes to help carry SWISH to another victory while the young dynamic duo of Hakim Dahnoun and Zachary Swaby hope to bounce back after a loss last week.

Rapchaz made a move acquiring another young guy in Malik McPherson. In McPherson, they get a rookie who’s been pretty solid throughout and might find a better fit with the Rapchaz. Rapchaz did an excellent job getting to the line and making their free throws but struggled mightily from three point range. That’s an area they’ll need to improve on.

SWISH sort of reminds me of a version of Golden State. They’ve got guys who can light it up from three and can operate without any bigs on the floor. S.W.I.S.H. does an excellent job at getting to the line, forcing turnovers and running with the ball. This has been a huge key to their success early in the season.  SWISH also made a move acquiring SG Tarun Bhasin. That’s going to add even more offense.

Grind Time vs. Bugatti Boys Basketball

Bugatti hits three pointers at the league high 40%. Bugatti struggles to rebound the ball with a league low average of 25.3 RPG.

BBB GM Norman Penola has to be excited after seeing his top player Emeron Rodgers go off for 33 points on 7/11 from deep. Bugatti stood pat during a crazy week of trades and I’m not surprised they did. They’ve played a bit shorthanded this season and have still managed to be a tough out every night. If they can get it going offensively they might be able to put this game out of reach early.

Grind Time has been struggling offensively so they made a few moves that should help with exactly that. Grind Time was able to acquire PG Cham Sangar and F Brandon Chase. Sangar is coming off his best season but hasn’t scored in double figures this season. Chase was phenomenal last season for the championship team, What’s Luv and will probably be a better fit with Grind Time. Bottom line is they’ll need to either get their offense going or stop Bugatti from going off.

Box Out vs. Investment Academy

Box Out is coming off a frustrating loss, losing to Kawhi Not by 4 last week. They had their chances but shooting 8% from three point range (2/25) just isn’t going to get it done. The Investment Academy also suffered a frustrating loss, losing to SWISH by 10 in what looked to be a very winnable game. They got good contributions across the board, but could not get on the same page with each other.

Both teams were active during the week making trades to hopefully improve their respective rosters. Investment Academy GM Mike Myers sent PG Cham Sangar to Grind Time for G Ron Pacis. In Pacis they’ll find a steady guard that hasn’t really been able to get it going for his team either. Hopefully this is a trade that works out for both sides.

Box Out was able to acquire PG Martin Cruz and G Mike Cruz. This of course means the Nicholas, Mike and Martin will re-unite. It’s without question that they play better when they’re together.

Kawhi Not vs. Unruly

What a great match-up to conclude Week 4. The undefeated Kawhi Not vs. the high scoring Unruly. Kawhi Not is coming off a tight win over Box Out 55-51 while Unruly is fresh off an easy win over Grind Time winning 68-51.

Unruly is currently tied for the league lead in points per game and leads 2nd half points by a massive margin. A big reason for that is their unselfishness, leading the league in assists per game at 15.0 and it’s not even close. Nettey and Harvey both had 22 last week and 5 players had 2 or more dimes which means they’re really making an effort to move the ball.

Kawhi Not nearly lost for the first time, but survived in last week’s W. Dover was the only player who really had it going offensively finishing with 22 points, but the rest of the team struggled shooting only 26% from the floor. The good thing is Kawhi Not plays solid team defense and they’re going to need to bring their A-Game on both ends as they take on an opponent that has the ability to put points up in a hurry.
