RAPCHAZ vs. Investment Academy

Although they lost on opening night, the Rapchaz walked away with a lot of positives. Everyone seemed to be engaged but made a few mistakes at crucial points that led to them getting a loss. More than 50% of their shots were 3 pointers and they’re going to get a lot of opening looks with Hakim Dahnoun and Zachary Swaby attracting a lot of attention so they’ve got to knock down those shots.

They’ll take on an Investment Academy team that won a nailbiter on opening night. The Investment Academy played very unselfishly and didn't have a single player score more than 10. The Rapchaz are led by two young athletic scorers so containing one of them should be a priority.

There’s some familiarity between these two teams as many players have been teammates before and very interesting match-ups between the two so look for a closely contested game going down to the wire.

Bugatti Boys Basketball vs. Box Out

D’Andre Hospedales went off for 25 to lead Box Out to an opening night win but he’s going to need more help against the Bugatti Boys. They struggled from the field but made up for it with offensive rebounds.

Bugatti was completely shorthanded on opening night and despite looking absolutely gassed they did compete with Kawhi Not. Hopefully they’ll have all their players ready to go because they’ll need it against Box Out.

An obvious key match-up will be between Emeron Rodgers (this season’s #1 pick) and D’Andre Hospedales (last season’s #1 pick). Both play the same position so they will definitely cross paths. Another player to look out for is Joel Sooden who fell way down in the draft. He responded with 22 points on 9/14 from the field last week.

Kawhi Not vs. Grind Time

Grind Time really struggled to score the basketball and get into a rhythm on opening night scoring only 41 points in a loss. They’ll need to bring their A-Game against a team that can fill it up in Kawhi Not. They’ve got to get things going offensively and also make sure to contest and close out Kawhi Not’s shooters.

Kawhi may have been the best team on opening night as they shot 50% from three point range over 50% from the field in a 10 point win. They got production from everyone on the team and kept the opponent out of the game with their three point shooting. They’re going to take on a hungry Grind Time team.

A key match up will be between Shaq Dover and Michael Quayson. Both technically rookies to the Toronto division and both playing the same position. Both strong and athletic guys so it should be a very interesting match-up.

SWISH vs. Unruly

SWISH will be looking to bounce back after a crushing loss on opening night. SWISH could not close out the game and it didn’t help that they only had 5 players on hand. SWISH will need to do a better job of getting on the glass against Unruly, but very good effort considering they only had 5.

Unruly didn’t shoot the ball well at all last week but still found a way to win the ball game. They got great contibutions across the board, but really need to get that field goal percentage up. They did do a great job at the line converting 13-15. They’ll take on a very guard heavy line-up in SWISH this week.

Delly Thomas and Akai Nettey will get their first look at Jevon Jacobs (who they won a championship with last season) on the opposing side. Look for some fireworks between these guards. Throw in Joshua Nojadera into the mix and expect a lot of three pointers going up in the air.
