Hard to believe at this point that after this week we will be at the halfway point of the season. Teams are playing well and beginning to hit their strides, while others are still gelling. Here is a look at this weeks action, featuring a spicy 8pm matchup.

8pm – Hong Shing (3-0) Vs. Kings (3-0)
The matchup we have bee n waiting for is finally here. The 3 time defending champions Hong Shing will take on the Kings in a battle of the undefeated. Hong Shing has gotten off to another great start, and are playing solid team ball heading into this matchup. The key to the game will be how Hong Shing handles thee most prolific scorer in MB history Paul Blake. Don’t be fooled, Morrison and Wright have been contributing at a high level as well, but Blake is the key. Hong Shing will also have some advantages offensively that they will need to exploit. Bring your popcorn, chips, guacamole, shwarma whatever u want to sit n enjoy this one with.

9pm - Bel-Air Academy (1-2) Vs. District 6 (1-1)
Both teams have had up and down starts to the season, so expect them to come out looking to be aggressive early. Bel Air have shown improved patience and ability to run offence as a unit year. It will be on District to upset that comfort level and see if they can exploit them in transition. Bel-Air have had a tough time defending when the game speeds up, and District has the horses to give them fits on the break. Bel Air will also need to find their touch from 3, as they have been ice cold the last 2 weeks from deep (11-63 as a team). District have been off to a slow start trying to integrate new pieces, so lets see if they can finally get some juice going as a unit.

10pm – Regeneration X (0-3) Vs. The Vets (0-2)
Regeneration is coming off a tough loss in which they played their best game of the year date. Their ball movement and shot selection was great, and they really seemed to find a good groove as a unit. The test for them will be to repeat that against a savvy Vets team that is looking to break through with their first MB win. They got off to a slow start but showed signs in their last game that they are putting it together. One area they need to address in this game is the defensive glass. Regeneration has some guys who are great crashing the offensive glass and providing 2nd chances. If The Vets can lock that off and knock down some shots it will bode
well for them. Both teams are hungry for their first win so this game should have some intensity to it.
