Game 1 – Grind Time vs. S.W.I.S.H.

S.W.I.S.H. saw an immediate improvement from Week 1 to Week 2 picking up their first W of the season. They didn’t play great, but they have a lot of positives from their first win. Almost everyone struggled from the floor, but Matt Walker to the rescue with 15 on 6/7. They’re going to need to be better across the board against Grind Time. They’ve got to keep up the defensive intensity and make their open looks. Grind Time looked rejuvenated last week with every single player making an impact for them. It seems like every player knows their role and that’s a great sign this early in the season. They’ll take on a former Grind Time player in Michalski so that should be interesting to watch.

Game 2 – The Investment Academy vs. What’s Luv

What’s Luv has been the best team in this young season. They’re the only team with an undefeated record through two weeks and they seem to have pretty good chemistry despite only knowing each other for a few weeks.   The Investment Academy looked scary in Week 1 but took a step back in Week 2. They struggled from everywhere on the floor and the free throw line, only managing 17 field goals on 61 attempts and missed 12 free throws. TIA has to focus on getting high percentage shots and also do a better job of knocking down the freebies.

Game 3 – Unruly vs. Box Out

Boxout will hope to get their first W of the season after opening up the season with back to back losses. They’ll take on Unruly who won on opening night but lost last week. The problem for Box Out is scoring and also slow starts. So far they’ve been outscored by an average of 11.5 in the first half compared to actually scoring 0.5 more points in the 2nd half. Another key is Box Out has to Box Out against an Unruly team that has a lot of length and size. For Unruly, obviously having more than 5 players in the line-up will help as they played with 5 for the entire game last week. They really struggled from the field and coughed up the ball in key moments of the game. They’ve to clean it up on the offensive side, get some extra bodies in there and take advantage of their size.
